The market layer
Every CROSTORION site is controlled locally by an EMS. Qilin QUANT is the layer above it: it forecasts prices, decides what the whole portfolio should do in each quarter-hour, and takes that decision to the market under our own licence.

Price forecasting
AI price forecasting at 15-minute resolution, trained on live EU market data and on load profiles from our own installations.
Day-ahead optimisation
A charge and discharge schedule for every site, built against day-ahead prices for the quarter-hours ahead.
Balancing and reserve
aFRR and mFRR delivered inside our own balancing group, alongside the day-ahead schedule rather than instead of it.
Aggregation
Many sites presented to the market as one resource, so a single cabinet reaches products it could never qualify for alone.
Run monitoring
Every data family the pipeline tracks, live, with success and failure counts — a bad feed is visible before it becomes a bad bid.
Settlement
Market result attributed back to each site and shown in the client portal, next to the savings the site made on its own bill.
A schedule is not a market position
Layers 1 and 2 — device control and site optimisation — can be run by any competent installer. Layer 3 cannot: to act on a forecast you have to be a licensed market participant with a balancing group and a portfolio behind you.
Manufacturers do not normally hold their own trading licence, and we are not aware of one in our markets that does. The split between making hardware and running the market layer is structural, not accidental: a manufacturer that entered layer 3 would be competing with the installers it sells through.
Our optimisation layer and our licence are our own. That is what lets us carry market risk on a customer site instead of passing it to the customer.
